LAS VEGAS (AP) A newspaper poll finds southern Nevadans dont think marijuana and hashish bars belong in Las Vegas, or that expanding prostitution into Clark County is a good way to improve tourism.
Sixty-four percent of respondents in a local survey reported Monday by the Las Vegas Review-Journal and KLAS-TV opposed allowing brothels in Las Vegas and Clark County. Thirty percent supported the idea.
An overwhelming 79 percent say they dont want Dutch-style hashish and marijuana bars in Las Vegas, with 19 percent in support.
The poll of 405 registered Clark County voters was conducted by Mason-Dixon Polling & Research of Washington, D.C.
It had a sampling error margin of plus or minus 5 percentage points.
Voters statewide rejected legalizing marijuana in 2002 and 2006.
