LAS VEGAS — Former Clark County Commissioner Dario Herrera is returning to Las Vegas after spending more than two years in prison for accepting bribes from strip club owner Michael Galardi.
Herrera, once seen as a rising star in the Democratic party, was one of several high-profile lawmakers charged in the notorious G-Sting scandal. He will serve out the remainder of his sentence there until December.
Another former commissioner, Erin Kenny, is due to serve out the remainder of her sentence at the same halfway house. Kenny testified against Herrera and Mary Kincaid-Chauncey in the 2006 G-Sting trial.
