LAS VEGAS — Former Clark County commissioner Dario Herrera wont talk about his nearly two-year prison sentence for accepting bribes from a Las Vegas strip club owner.
Herrera is serving the remainder of his 50-month sentence at the Las Vegas Corrections Center. He will be released in December and has refused all requests for interviews.
Once a rising star in the Democratic Party, Herrera was among several Clark County lawmakers sentenced to prison for accepting bribes from club owner Michael Galardi. The scandal was dubbed G-Sting by authorities and prosecutors.
Another former commissioner, Erin Kenny, is scheduled to serve the remainder of her sentence at the same facility. Kenny testified against Herrera and former Commissioner Mary Kincaid-Chauncey.
